U.S. Latinos’ economic output surged 13% to $3.6 trillion in 2022, according to a new report. If the cohort were its own country, it would be the fifth-largest economy in the world, with a growth rate second only to China. The report, released by Latino Donor Collaborative and Wells Fargo, credits factors including high workforce participation and higher educational attainment with making Latinos a “formidable force.” Household wealth also tripled in the past decade, although disparities persist. The Latino economy is expected to continue growing rapidly, surpassing Japan’s GDP this year and Germany by 2027.
