2024 LDC FAST FACTS

The 2024 LDC Fast Facts Poster offers a visually engaging and comprehensive summary of the key Latino contributions in the U.S. across various sectors. This poster is packed with data that highlights the impact Latinos have on the U.S. economy, workforce, business landscape, and social media, presenting it in a concise and accessible format.

Key insights from the poster show that U.S. Latinos have the highest rate of new business ownership compared to any other racial or ethnic group, with 0.60% of Latinos (600 out of 100,000) starting new businesses. Latino-owned businesses have experienced an impressive median compound annual growth rate of 8.7%, outpacing white-owned businesses, which saw a 5.6% growth rate from 2020 to 2023. These statistics underscore the entrepreneurial spirit and economic contributions Latinos continue to make across the country.

The poster also highlights that Latinos are responsible for 25.6% of the nation’s overall homeownership growth, with the Hispanic homeownership rate reaching 49.5% in 2023. Additionally, Latinos make up 19% of the U.S. workforce and have the highest work participation rate among all major groups in the population. This demographic is also vital to the growth of key industries such as manufacturing, where Latinos represent 17% of total U.S. manufacturing jobs.

Furthermore, the poster emphasizes the youthful demographic of U.S. Latinos, with a median age of 30.7 years, compared to 41.1 years for Anglo Americans. This younger age profile positions Latinos as the future consumers and workforce of America. They are also leading in social media engagement, with 49% of Latinos using platforms like TikTok, surpassing other major demographic groups in usage.
